The countdown has started for my trip to Canada this winter. This page will let you know how I am getting on. Have I bought any new snowboard gear? Have I paid for my insurance? As and when I pay for anything towards my trip I’ll put it here. I’ll also post anything interesting that happens as I coutdown to my departure. As a measure of days until I start my course I am using the WDTW method (Working Days ‘Til Whistler) which is a bit like the SDTC (Shopping Days ‘Til Christmas) countdown method that you will be more familiar with. The numbers are the number of working days left for me before I leave (5th Jan).
1 - Clean flat. Sit around with smile on my face waiting for tomorrow.
2 - Repack everything that I am taking to Whistler to try and make it fit into bags that BA will actually take!
3 - Return to London and return van.
4 - Move stuff.
5 - Pack up my stuff .
8 - Buy a new camera to replace the one I lost .
12 - Although there are 12 working days left, I’m finished for the year.
12 - 3 day blast in Morzine. Rode a Ride Agenda, Society and Decade over the three days. Also froze my **** off. It was -20 and then there was the wind chill. Brrrr.
22 - Five hour session at MK Sno!zone.
35 - Paid course fees to Pro-ride. I guess I really am going.
44 - New free Neff hat arrives courtesy of onboard magazine. I also got a free board tool to help screw my bindings together. The Neff hat is really silly and I may post a picture of me it it if you are lucky.
47 – Metro Ski & Snowboard Show at Olympia. www.metrosnow.co.uk
50 - Free Whitelines t-shirt arrives
I’m wearing it now.
52 – Get Buyer’s Guide with all the information about the new boards, bindings, boots, and other stuff out this year.
